Is Gemini the same as Google Flights?

No. Google Flights is the fare search. Gemini is the assistant that can use Google travel products while you plan.

Do I need a paid plan?

You can use Gemini for free. Google sells paid AI plans with higher limits. See the site for current names and prices.

Will it book the trip for me?

Expect it to send you to Google Flights or Hotels to finish a booking. Confirm that flow in your own account.

Official site How we check listings

Gemini, at gemini.google.com, is Google's general assistant. For travel, the useful part is that it sits beside Google Flights, Hotels, Maps, and Gmail, so a plan can point at live Google travel results instead of a made-up fare. There is a free tier and paid Google AI plans. We are not quoting a plan price. See Google's current plans page.

Gemini has a free tier and paid Google AI plans. See Google's plan page for the current price. Travel you book is separate.

Pros

It can hand you to Google's own flight and hotel results.
Maps and Gmail are already where many trips live.

Cons

Deeper models sit on a paid Google AI plan. See site for which one.
A written itinerary can still misstate hours. Check Maps.
